About Jim McMicken
I have always loved technology starting when I was introduced to it by the U.S. Navy at age 17, where I learned electronics, radar and computer principles and later put these skills to use while deployed on a Guided Missile Destroyer at hot spots around the world. After my enlistment, I implemented and supported information technology at a number of companies large and small in many different sectors. I had the good fortune to work at several global companies and really enjoyed learning about other cultures and customs, as well as meeting so many diverse and interesting people around the world. Information security has always been core to the infrastructure and application technology that I managed, starting with Navy systems, then Aerospace manufacturing, Entertainment, and all the way to Retail and Health. I especially enjoyed supporting companies that strove to make the world a better place whether it be in Health Care or even Entertainment, where audience around the world could lose themselves in movies with intros like \"A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away\" and forget their troubles for a few hours. During my career journey, I made my professional focus information security because I love the challenge and the ever-changing horizon. My deep technology foundation has enabled me to quickly determine how to optimally protect global information assets and technologies. I always look forward to securing company technology assets and keeping our customer\'s data safe in this challenging field.
