   My experience with the North Georgia Community Foundation began in 1985 with service on the founding board of what was originally called the Gainesville Community Foundation. I served two terms as Chairman of the newly formed Foundation. After completing a career as President of SunTrust Bank of North Georgia I joined the Community Foundation as its President in 1998. NGCF serves 15 counties in the Northeast corner of the state. The mission of the foundation is;\"The North Georgia Community Foundation is dedicated to enhancing the spirit of community and quality of life in the greater North Georgia region by building, preserving and distributing philanthropic assets.\" The Foundation has philanthropic assets of over $48 million in 320 separate funds with total invested assets of $180 million. We have assisted our donors make grants of over $50 million since our founding in 1985.
