About Jim Kennedy

Having started out in credit and collections management, I moved into accounting and obtained professional accounting certification as a Certified Management Accountant [CMA] in 1984. My career has been very diverse, from large multi-national firms like Motorola to small niche firms under $10mm in sales; from food processing to medical diagnostic equipment. We moved to Greensboro in 1988, where I started with Gilbarco. I left Gilbarco Veeder-Root after 15 years and decided to seek a position in a not for profit. I took the position of the first Controller for Victory Junction Camp in 2004, and left in 2007 to be Controller at the Community Foundation of Greater Greensboro. I retired from the Foundation at the end of 2011, and now enjoy my time volunteering with NFP\'s in the accounting area, serving on NFP boards and club and District Rotary activities. I am a past board member, Treasurer and Board President of the Adult Center for Enrichment. I am also a Past President of my Rotary Club - Gate City Rotary - of which I am a charter member (1991), and have also served at the district (7690) level as District Treasurer for 3 years.
