ABOUT JIM BERARDONE
I help to transform engineers into product managers and tech innovation leaders. I understand the challenge from the experience of doing it myself, from teaching and mentoring both graduate students and experienced professionals, and by studying how others do it and what others have learned. Since 2013, I have created, taught and/or delivered 9 distinct courses in product management, innovation, business, and software development to over 1,500 master\'s students at Carnegie Mellon University. The students are part of degree programs, across CMU campuses, including software engineering, HCI, MBA, product management, innovation, information systems, engineering, computer science, robotics, design and architecture. Earlier, I built and delivered training programs for over product professionals as the founding CEO of a membership-based education business. My educational offerings are built upon a learner-centered approach, pedagogical principles and learn-by-doing strategies. For 4 startups and 3 multi-national organizations, I led the introduction of 17 B2B new technology product lines to market, built product management teams, and implemented structure and repeatable practices for growth and innovation. These product lines include award-winning driverless vehicles (before Waymo,) a B2B SaaS offering (before Salesforce,) search engines (before Google,) digital content (before the WSJ online,) AI-powered analytics software, and a digital marketplace.
