The ever changing landscape of Montana has long been a passion for Jim. With over 45 years of experience in ranch brokerage, fly fishing outfitting, business development and marketing, water and ag resource development in Montana, Jim\'s career reflects his love of the outdoors and deep respect for the farmers, ranchers and sportsmen of the American West. This experience and a passion for the western lifestyle allow Jim to provide unequaled client representation. His diverse clientele range from original homestead ranch families to equity fund investors, passionate fly fishermen to production oriented ag buyers.Jim started in ranch real estate sales 24 years ago with Fay Ranches and Ranch Marketing Associates and now founded Western Ranch Brokers, along with partners Bill Boyce and Caleb Campbell where he consistently set new marks in sales while expanding markets throughout Montana. Introduced at a young age to fishing and the outdoors, Jim studied Agronomy as an undergraduate at the Univ. of Missouri followed by graduate studies in Ag Business. Lured by the Monsanto Company to Montana, Jim\'s work as an ag field representative introduced him to the beauty, wide-open spaces, farms, ranches and timberland of Montana where he settled to raise a family and lead a successful career in fly fishing outfitting, marketing and ranch sales. Jim founded and operated one of Montana\'s largest fly fishing outfitters, shop and lodge - Grizzly Hackle Fishing Co. – for fourteen seasons before partnering in the Silver Bow Club, a shared fishing and hunting ranch development with acres of ranch holdings on the Big Hole and Beaverhead Rivers. He was involved in the ranch’s recreational, agricultural and outfitting operations, conservation easement assessment, development and marketing.
