ABOUT JIM THOMSEN
After a fairly lengthy hiatus/retirement (6+ years), I decided I would like to do something to stay more active (physically and mentally) while my better half finished up her career in public education. As such, I am now a licensed Mortgage Loan Originator in the state of CA, which seems to align well with my prior financing experience, and offers me the opportunity to assist clients with their homebuying and refinancing needs. My decade-long recruiting career was pleasantly interrupted for approximately 2-years when I moved well outside recruiting and joined forces with my son in the not-so-well-known business of escape/challenge rooms. “Escape The Place” puts families, friends, and corporate teams into real-life escape scenarios, and challenges them to solve an array of puzzles, riddles, codes, and more to Escape The Place in 60 minutes or less. My son and I “Escaped” the business (after amusing, and confusing, thousands of happy customers), with the successful sale of our two brick-and-mortar locations. My aforementioned recruiting career started in 2005, with Robert Half Finance & Accounting. After that, I spent 6-years as an Executive Recruiter with CyberCoders, then nearly 2-years in the role of Recruiting Director with Predixion Software… a disruptive early stage company offering predictive analytics solutions to a variety of industries including, Healthcare and The Industrial Internet (IoT – Internet of Things), and concluding with a few months as an independent recruiter. Prior to recruiting, I enjoyed many successful years in business development, marketing, and operations, in various industries, then as a VP and Sales Manager in the capital equipment finance industry.
