As Sector Commander and Captain of the Port of San Diego, responsible for the maritime safety, security, and environmental protection for Southern California, Arizona, Southern Nevada and Utah, and resilience of a Tier 1 strategic seaport with $10 billion in annual maritime commerce and the home to the largest U.S. Naval fleet in the Pacific. Responsible for the protection against all-hazards to maritime infrastructure and the marine transportation system. Leads 700+ personnel overseeing $5 million budget and $54 million in property. Operational command of aircraft, ships, and boats. Federal Maritime Security Coordinator, Federal On Scene Coordinator (pollution response), Officer-in-Charge of Marine Inspection, Search and Rescue Mission Commander. Leads Joint Harbor Operations Center and interagency maritime task force.
