Oversight and direct responsibility for single major projects or multiple large projects requiring management of staff. Project development oversight with local gov. agencies, permitting authorities, and utilities. Review contract documents and obtain PA Department of Health approvals in conjunction with the Director, Architecture. Manage A&E, consultant, contractor, and project management firm relationships. Oversee and monitor all aspects of capital projects to include planning, estimating, design and engineering review, budgeting, scheduling, and construction management services for a full array of institutional construction project types. Work with medical faculty, staff, and senior executive management to establish early program needs, ROI’s, and feasibility of proposed projects. Oversee the bidding and/or negotiation phase of capital projects to achieve the highest value for the organization. Manage the preparation of contracts and the collection of required documents including, but not limited to: MWDBE req, bonds, insurance certificates, waivers, etc. Contribute to the development of the System Capital Construction Budget. Oversight of the health system\'s capital Medical Equipment Planning program. Act as a professional resource to maintenance/operations staff by troubleshooting building systems, performing limited design services, developing capital project requests, and reviewing proposed equipment and manufacturers for inclusion in project specifications. Lead and mentor junior associates and direct reports with all aspects of project management, promoting professional growth & development for each through the capital const. program. Continuously building and managing solid relationships with UPMC senior executive leaders as part of the capital construction and facility development effort.
