About Jim Schell

With a bittersweet taste in my mouth, I’m sad to announce that I’m now semi-retired. I’ve had a good run since graduating from college; three years in the Air Force, six years as a small business employee, twenty-five years as a Minneapolis entrepreneur, and thirty years as a Bend, Oregon-based writer, mentor, and nonprofit founder and executive. Over those years, especially those in Bend, I’ve worked hard to make a difference. And now? At age eighty-eight and relocated to Oro Valley, Arizona, I’m zooming regularly with a couple dozen young friends while trying to improve my golf game, which is resisting mightily. I’m also still writing “Old Guy” books, I’ll be publishing the sixth one this year (2025) and continuing to crank out one every year.
