As the single point of contact for the utility pole permitting process, manage and drive multiple Architecture & Engineering firms’ performance in all aspects of joint pole and conduit applications, as well as DOT and Railroad permit submissions- Ensure all applications are aligned with company high level and low-level design plans, that applications are submitted on time, complete, and accurate, and that application payments are timely and precise- Track, monitor, and shepherd the lifecycle of each application, from submission to field walkout to make-ready estimate to payment of estimate to make-ready construction and finally to receipt of pole license- Communicate pole application status updates with key internal project stakeholders, including OSP Design Engineers, GIS Specialists, OSP Construction Managers, OSP Project Management, Finance and Accounting, Supply Chain, Marketing, and Operations teams, as well as to members of the Senior Leadership Team- Solicit quotes and compare bids on multiple construction projects- Act as subject matter expert on The National Electrical Safety Code (NESC) and Telcordia Manual of Construction Procedures (Blue Book)- Develop resource plans to meet project objectives, monitor staff performance to ensure adherence to specified deadlines, and take appropriate action when goals are in jeopardy- Assist in the planning and implementation of fiber OSP projects that adhere to approved plans, budgets, and schedules- Conduct joint site walks with electric, communications, and telecom pole attachers to determine that field conditions align with design plans and arrive at creative solutions when field conditions are found not as expected.
