Accountable for the management of the CVoIP IMS Lab, providing facility, network, system management, hardware and software support replicating the AT & T Consumer Voice over IP service.• Set up and managed a secure and safe lab infrastructure management environment, based on VMware-hosted Red Hat Linux and Microsoft Windows VMs to provide infrastructure server and network access and management. • Provided hands-on hardware break|fix support and software upgrades for lab network elements, servers, network hardware and connectivity, resulting in 99% availability for testing.• Implemented Red Hat Linux server and EMC disk array for Veritas NetBackup and an OpsCenter management server for lab systems in the Austin, TX and in Redmond, WA.• Transformed the lab environment formerly not up to safety and company standards to a clean and orderly display of cabinets, servers and cabling that was a maintainable, documented production test environment.• Provided long-haul (OC48 to California and Illinois) and short-haul (10G Ethernet) circuit support, including ordering, testing of the circuits, configuration of the site SONET ring and router terminations, and management of circuit troubleshooting and outages. • Managed User support for facility hop-on, hop-off servers providing secure access to lab equipment, ranging from account creation to troubleshooting Java issues.• Accountable for management and upkeep|updates of the site time Network (NTP) and T1 timing infrastructure.
