About Jim Owen

interest started in design and building around the age of 12. renovated projects throughout my life as this all came naturally to me. my grandfather was a farmer/builder. i follow in his footsteps a bit. my love of architecture encompasses houses of the 17••••00\'s, mid-century modern and sleek minimal modern design. mid-century modern is a major love of mine as the design of that era was about connecting the interior to the exterior.large glass walls with many areas of access to the outdoors which holds true into new minimal design of today. photography interest since a teen. have always been fascinated with photography.allows me to be a voyeur of life/art/world through the eyes of another while sharing my view with others as well. have had my images used in regional and national publications as well as in a national published book. Specialties: renovation design or redesign of existing space. change of floor plan and flow to meet today\'s style of life. kitchens and baths are my loves. biggest love of all is the visual and physical connection between the climate controlled world of our spaces to the untamed outdoors. very important to me to have as much access to nature from the confines of our spaces. portfolio images on houzz, instagram and facebook.
