Current and qualified instrument rated military flight simulator instructor for students enrolled in the Euro-NATO Joint Jet Pilot Training (ENJJPT) Undergraduate Pilot Training (UPT) program and for rated upgrade pilots enrolled in the ENJJPT Pilot Instructor Training (PIT) program. Maintains an extensive knowledge of simulator capabilities and functions, prepares mission profiles to support course objectives and formulates quality control procedures to standardize training and evaluation. Plans simulator missions in accordance with syllabus objectives and briefs students and rated upgrade pilots on mission profile and expected training maneuver performance objectives. Instructs students on the basic skills involved in aircraft flight, advanced instrument techniques, night flying, close formation flying, advanced formation flying, including tactical formations and guns tracking exercises, performing aerobatic and evasive maneuvers, cross-country flights to unfamiliar airfields, and flying high speed low-level missions. Responsible for ensuring students and rated upgrade pilots completely grasp aircraft operating capabilities and limitations, procedures for handling emergencies (flight and ground), and the essential skills needed to precisely handle the aircraft safely prior to releasing the student to fly the aircraft. Instructs students in instrument flight planning, precision handling and maneuvering of the aircraft, instrument flight using aircraft navigational instruments and systems in conjunction with air navigational aids, area navigation, air traffic control operations and procedures and pilot interface with those activities, instrument approach and departure procedures, holding procedures, and use of instrument landing systems. Instructs rated upgrade pilots in advanced skills required to safely execute training flights with untrained and unpredictable students.
