ABOUT JIM LYONS

Jim Joined Asset Reality as a Trainer and Investigator Full Time in December 2023, after working for them part time for 2 years. Jim also formed Cybital Limited in 2021, previous to that he was one of the first Cybercrime Detectives in Greater Manchester Police\'s Cybercrime unit.(Now retired, having completed his service). He was also one of the first Digital Media Investigators,(DMI\'s), having passed the NPIA\'s course in February 2015. He was an Advanced Practitioner in Cybercrime, regularly examining Internet Routers and producing evidence/reports on the device. He was a Cryptocurrency Tactical Advisor for GMP. He developed and practically implemented the Cryptocurrency Seizure Policy in G.M.P. Which resulted in the first GMP BTC,BCH & BCG seizure of He is an associate member of the Chartered Institute of Information Security,(CIISec). He has seized over £1.5 million on cryptocurrencies, including ERC-20 tokens. He had over 6 years experience within the Major Fraud Unit of GMP, investigating large scale, complex frauds. In 2009/10 he worked closely with the NCA, and the FBI, on an Operation into the worlds largest English Speaking Criminal Forum at that time,\"Darkmarket\"​ (see wikipedia) and He has also worked on several other high profile covert investigations. He is a PIP Level 2 accredited Detective. He holds the level 3 City and Guilds accreditation in Education & training. He is trained in Open Source and Internet Investigations. Prior to his Police Career he was a Registered General Nurse,(Oncology trained), at the world renowed Christie NHS Trust Hospital, in Manchester for 11 years. In his spare time he regularly runs and has completed 2 half marathons in 2005 and 2014, the latter one in under 2 hours and raised for Breast Cancer Care in the process.
