Promoted to Commercial Manager within Design & Construction Services Doncaster Council. Responsible for a range of projects across the whole estate, working internally with Heritage, Education, Assets and externally with other clients. Developing new work and partnerships, supporting Identifying projects and budgets, writing reports, senior leadership liaison, monthly monitoring and reporting to capital improvement board.The team has grown and we continue to project manage on a range of council assets delivering improvement and renovation programmes.Recently delivered the new SEND school and now overseeing the new Doncaster Archives and the refurbishment of the historical Corn Exchange building. Working with external clients to deliver new CCU’s and local academies in South Yorkshire.

ABOUT JIM HOPPER

I have worked now for a number of years in the public sector as a project manager across many different themes. This has included both local government and nationally with the Civil Service, working with schools, local services and the community. I have been Project lead for various themes including, construction, capital maintenance, extended services, curriculum resource development, community development, social services and social enterprise.In addition to this I have been an active community member and held the chair for Friends of Bentley Park and Pavilion & Vice Chair Bentley New Village Primary School. Throughout my roles there have been numerous successes nationally, locally and within the community. We have worked with the LA and English Heritage to secure £3.5m to redevelop the local park and pavilion. Delivering a national range of school curriculum (primary and secondary) resource packs, included the school council tool kit for the School Food Trust. Managing the School of the Month Competition that featured regularly in TES. Taking responsibility of delivering the new. Bader special school facility in Doncaster, a £7.2m through school for students 5-19. A most recently managing the Doncaster School Maintenance Programme, which has significantly reduced the number of school days lost because of condition issues.My team has now grown and we have expanded our range of projects beyond Education internally and now includes a number of external clients. I am overseeing the new Doncaster Archives, refurbishing the former museum to become the home of Doncaster’s Historical Archive collection. I have also taken on the refurbishment of the historic Corn Exchange building in the centre of Doncaster as it looks towards its future role within the town. My team is working with internal and external clients on a wide range of projects, new and refurbished CCU’s, SEND projects within main stream schools and extensions to accommodate increased pupil numbers.
