About Jim Holway

I retired in September 2023 after a 40 year career working on water and land use policy and management in the Colorado River Basin, mostly in Arizona. I have been a pragmatic leader who focuses on getting the job done by collaborating across diverse political, economic and social interests. I believe it is critical to more broadly engage all residents of our region as well as our civic, environmental and business communities in the key decisions we will face. My wife and I moved to Durango, Colorado in 2025, after spending the previous 4 years half time here and half time in our home of the last 30 years in Arizona. We live about 5 miles north of town along the Animas River and share the \"No Probllama Ranch\" property with our son and his fiancée. as well as sheep, llamas, chickens, a few dogs and cats, about 100 mostly heritage apple trees in the orchard and a vacation rental house (Animas River House)
