About Jim Griveas

Started Nationwide career in 1994 as a Claims Adjuster in Cincinnati, Ohio. Relocated to Columbus, Ohio in 1997 and for the next 11 years held several leadership roles including IT Service Desk Manager, IT Project Manager, and IT Infrastructure Account Director. In 2008, I accepted a new position, Director IT Program Management. Primary responsibilities included: manage and lead a high performing team of project and program managers, consult with IT and business partners on project / program delivery, and lead and sponsor capability uplift activities for the project management profession and my IT office. While serving in this role I helped lead the deployment of a Lean Management System like implementing Standard Work, Leader Standard Work, Visual Management Systems, and a Gemba walk checklist.In 2017, I was elected to serve as a Project Management Service Owner within our Program & Application Services team. Primary responsibilities included leading a high performing team of program and project managers that managed a portfolio of 130 programs/projects with budgets totaling $85M while also supporting both our Enterprise Applications and Infrastructure & Operations technology offices partnering to improve delivery efficiency and effectiveness. During this time, I was also elected to serve as a nonprofit Board Member for Prevent Blindness Ohio where I continue to co-lead our annual Swing Fore Sight fundraiser and am a People of Vision steering committee member. I am currently part of our Infrastructure & Operations leadership team serving as a Technology Delivery Lead supporting our Corporate Technology team. My primary focus areas include infrastructure delivery, consumption, currency, and relationship management. I also co-lead operationalization of Lean across the office as part of our Product Operating Model roll-out.Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my family, cheering on the Ohio State Buckeyes, and playing golf.
