Jim is an outsourced frcational CFO.Jim’s expertise in financial management is impressive. He earned an MBA in computer and information science from the University of New Haven and a Sloan Fellow MBA in management from MIT. For 29 years, Jim provided senior executive leadership at the Sikorsky Aircraft division of United Technologies Corporation ultimately serving as CFO. He managed Sikorsky’s accounting, financial planning and analysis functions, guided mergers and acquisitions, was the lead financial advisor during the company’s union contract negotiations, and created the budget process they use today. Jim made an unusual transition from aerospace and defense to baseball. He helped former New York Yankee first baseman Don Mattingly create a company to market Don’s invention: The V-Grip. This innovation helps players accurately align their knuckles in a way that improves bat speed and power. Jim developed the business plan, helped raise the capital needed to begin the new company’s operations, and managed their banking and investor relations.Jim’s relationship with Don Mattingly continues to this day as treasurer of Mattingly Charities, a non-profit organization that supports softball and baseball programs for underprivileged youngsters. Jim also volunteers his expertise, serving on the Notre Dame High School (West Haven) board of directors and the Quinnipiac School of Business Advisory Board.What does this accomplished financial expert do for fun? Jim cooks. He’s an accomplished chef and studied with an internationally renowned chef in Tuscany. His specialty is an outstanding Osso Bucco.
