About Jim Engle
Leads the Iowa Downtown Resource Center. The Center administers Main Street Iowa, a nationally recognized program that provides downtown revitalization technical and project specific financial assistance to participating Main Street communities. The Iowa Downtown Resource Center also provides assistance, training and information to all downtowns across the state. Previously served as Director of the Wisconsin Main Street Program and other downtown development efforts since Wisconsin Main Street is a downtown revitalization program using historic preservation as one of its most important tools. In this position, I supervised 6 people, managed a budget and provided technical assistance in the field of downtown revitalization to over 100 communities. Led the Downtown Development efforts for the Division of Economic and Community Development at the Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC). Also, served as the Program Manager for the Oskaloosa (Iowa) Main Street Program for 5 years.
