ABOUT JIM EDMONDSON
IMPORTANT - I very rarely check LinkedIn — sometimes only once a year.I don’t respond to DMs here.If you need to reach me, please contact me directly or via other channels. The same applies to connection requests. I update these infrequently and don’t engage with the platform in any meaningful way — please don’t take offence if I don’t accept. If you got this far, this is a bit more about me:I spend most of my time thinking about how things really work — and why they so often don’t.People usually come to me when they’re stuck:when a problem feels tangled, a direction feels obvious but wrong, or when something has potential but no clear path forward. My way of thinking is non-linear and pattern-led. I look for first principles, hidden constraints, and the commercial shape of an idea — not just what could be done, but what should be done next. That applies as much to culture and teams as it does to strategy, marketing, or growth. This lens comes from lived experience. I’m autistic and dyslexic, which means I don’t process information in neat lines — I see systems, narratives, and second-order effects. When a problem genuinely interests me and I can see a real-world outcome, I tend to hyper-fixate until clarity emerges.I’ve built and led ventures over long arcs — both as the founding entrepreneur and by working closely with founders and senior teams across very different worlds. From heritage craftsmanship and storytelling, to idea-driven businesses and commercial strategy, I care deeply about how teams are built, how decisions are made, and whether growth is something that can actually be sustained.Beyond the work itself, I’m motivated by a broader question: how we build businesses, systems, and societies that don’t default to extraction, noise, or endless consumerism — and instead leave something more considered behind for the generations that follow.I’m selective about what I engage with. Curiosity comes first — but commercial reality matters. When those two align, that’s where I do my best work.
