A dedicated mental health professional, I am currently completing my second year field placement at INTER-CARE, a state-licensed substance use treatment program serving New York City and Westchester since 1989. Guided by a trauma-informed, person-centered model, INTER-CARE delivers evidence-based care through modalities such as CBT, DBT, Motivational Interviewing, twelve-step facilitation, and medication-assisted treatment. In my role as a MSW Clinical Intern, I conduct biopsychosocial assessments, co-facilitate group therapy sessions, develop treatment plans, and collaborate with medical and peer recovery teams. Working across programs—including Early Intervention, Early Recovery, and Intensive Outpatient—I gain hands-on experience in supporting clients through measurable, client-centered progress. This placement allows me to integrate theory with practice, while strengthening my skills in empathy, active listening, and motivational strategies that respect each client’s dignity and autonomy. My goal is to empower individuals on their journey to mental wellness through compassionate care and evidence-based practices.
