Since 1996, Byers has been Marketing Director for Arlington Cultural Affairs - the first arts organization to win the Innovations in American Government Award from Harvard University and The Ford Foundation. When the Division merged with Arlington Economic Development in Dec, 2011, Byers\' responsibilities expanded exponentially during a special 2 year assignment as a Marketing Manager within AED\'s broader marketing team. As Marketing Director, Byers managed the $115k marketing campaign as part of the team for the 10-10-10 launch Artisphere - Arlington’s new sq. ft. Cultural Center in the former Newseum space in Rosslyn. He supports the marketing efforts of funded County arts organizations, and promotes a myriad of County events including the Rosslyn Jazz Festival, the summer Arts al Fresco series of 120 free outdoor concerts, and Planet Arlington world music festival and concert series at Rosslyn Spectrum.
