As the sole Meteorologist, I work directly with power and natural gas traders on the trade floor, communicating my short, medium and long range temperature forecasts directly to traders. My weather view covers North America and supports trading activity across the U.S. and Canada.I anticipate vendor and model forecast changes. I produce my own weather view with a focus on the medium to long range, which extends into the subseasonal, monthly and seasonal time scales and provides opportunities within power and gas markets.I produce my own hourly ERCOT wind power forecast. A focus is placed on bal day/next day, along with my view on the next 15 days.Key responsibilities:• Daily morning weather briefings communicating my 20 day weather view across North America to the Houston and Calgary gas and power trading teams.• Provide 6-10/11-15/16-20 day temperature forecasts for North America including national and regional confidence, risks expressed in probabilities, and indicate where my view differs from specific vendors.• 1-15 day city temperature forecasts for numerous U.S. cities.• Bal day/next day hourly ERCOT wind forecasts, and my view on the next 15 days. Focus on my next day view vs. COP.• Short term temperature focus across ERCOT, PJM, SPP, CAISO.• Subseasonal temperature forecasts for North America: Issued weekly with confidence and forecast risks covering weeks 3-5. • Monthly temperature forecasts for North America. These include national HDD/CDD forecasts as well as probabilistic risk scenarios. • Regularly updated month ahead national HDD/CDD forecasts with ranges.• Seasonal temperature forecasts for North America.• Daily computer model updates. • Weekly weather briefings: For the Houston and Calgary trading teams and the utility side of TC. Focused on the month ahead update, also covers relevant current/short term weather, medium, subseasonal to seasonal forecasts, and Q&A.• Daily hurricane and winter storm forecasts when relevant.

I have spent my career fully immersed in the energy trading environment working directly with natural gas and power traders. I am adept at finding unique opportunities across trading platforms. My expertise provides anticipated weather changes in the bal day/next day across power markets, as well as the 6-10/11-15 day and 16-30 day forecast windows. I provide an unbiased weather view, utilizing worldwide meteorological signals to produce unique ideas before considering computer models. In this vein I am able to offer traders an edge across markets in providing medium, sub-seasonal and monthly forecasts which are sometimes quite different than vendor forecasts. I also have years of experience forecasting temperatures and load across all U.S. power markets, including wind forecasting across ERCOT, MISO, PJM, NYISO and CAISO.
