As a Supervisory Patent Examiner (SPE), I\'m responsible for leading and training a team of patent examiners with various backgrounds in biology, chemistry, and chemical engineering, and many of whom also have a law degree. My previous art unit (1654) that I supervised examines small peptides (less than 100 amino acids, e.g. insulin and cyclosporine), blood factors (e.g. Factor albumin, methods of making and using these peptides. My current art unit (1622) examines in the area of biomedicinal chemistry, especially small molecule organic compounds and methods of use thereof.
