    Keep The Flame Alive

    Aug 2017 — Present

When I tell people I have a weekly podcast about the Olympics and Paralympics, they invariably ask,\"Aren\'t the Olympics like every four years? What do you talk about?\"What don\'t we talk about? The Olympics and Paralympics come around once every couple of years, but they affect people every day. Athletes train continuously. Host cities spend years preparing. Scholars and historians research, write and reflect on how the Games have affected history. The list goes on.Keep the Flame Alive ™ celebrates the stories of these people who create the greatest sporting events in the world. I and my co-host Alison Brown do so from the fan perspective - we find out how things work so that our listeners can be more informed and have more fun when they watch. Episodes air weekly, but during the Olympics and Paralympics, we drop on-site daily recaps of all of the action. Our guests become members of Team Keep the Flame Alive (TKFLA). Team members are honorary citizens of TKFLASTAN (with all those consonants, put \"-stan\" on the end, and you\'ve got yourself a country!).Some of our achievements:» Accredited to cover the Beijing 2022, Paris 2024 and Milan-Cortina 2026 Olympics and Paralympics in person» Selected for a Podca$h grant» Nominated for Best Olympics and Paralympics Podcast in the 2022 and 2025 Sports Podcast Awards» Nominated for Best Sports Podcast in the 2024 Women in Podcasting AwardsWe\'re proud to be a unique voice in the sports media landscape and we love the community of passionate fans who listen to our show, participate in our Facebook Group and connect with us on social media.Take a listen and learn something you never knew about the Games!
