ABOUT JILL BAXTER

As Vice President of Principal Management for Human Nutrition at Barentz, I have the pleasure of overseeing the naturals and organics food division for a leading global life science and specialty ingredients distributor. I began working in the food ingredient industry in 2001 as a product manager, focused on organic and natural ingredients. Since then, I’ve held roles in procurement, regulatory compliance, operations, sales and general management. I’ve had the pleasure of forming extensive relationships with core principals and suppliers from around the world; today, I continue to focus on identifying and sourcing new ingredients based on market demand, trend and innovation for Barentz’s North American market. There are three guiding principles I aim to follow each day: 1) Continue learning. As the industry grows and changes, our tactics and practices must do the same. 2) Cover your bases. Thorough, extensive research is the name of the game in this industry. 3) Care about the end goal. In my role, it’s vital to think about every step of the supply chain, not just one single link on that chain.I’m thankful to work with a strong, knowledgeable team and identify emerging ingredients for our principals each and every day.
