About Jill Rasmussen
CISSP-certified cybersecurity, AI and digital trust leader working across industry, higher education, and governance to strengthen institutional resilience and public trust in technology in an increasingly complex connected world. I am a senior leader with more than twenty years of experience spanning cyber risk, insurance strategy, product innovation, and digital transformation, with a growing focus on AI as a strategic, organizational, and governance challenge. My work centers on translating complex technological and regulatory change into clear strategic choices for executives, boards, and public-interest organizations.I bring significant board and governance experience, currently serving as Vice Chair of a global digital identity association and as Board Chair of a nonprofit organization. In these roles, I support fiduciary oversight, CEO succession planning, organizational strategy, and multi-stakeholder collaboration, with an emphasis on accountability, continuity, and mission alignment. I am an active contributor to national conversations on cybersecurity, privacy, and trust through education, governance, and public-facing work.In parallel, I am deeply engaged in higher education and leadership development. I hold faculty appointments at Brown University and Bryant University, and contribute nationally through EDUCAUSE, teaching and convening leaders on strategy, cybersecurity, identity, and governance. I teach AI for business applications at both the undergraduate and graduate levels, with a focus on strategy, governance, risk, and organizational decision-making. I am currently a PhD Candidate in Digital Trust at Salve Regina University, where my research examines how persuasive technologies and AI influence organizational decision-making, ethics, and institutional trust. My work bridges industry and academia, innovation and governance, and technology and public responsibility. I have contributed to the EDUCAUSE Horizon Report on Cybersecurity and Privacy and have been recognized for thought leadership across professional and academic communities, including speaking at the AI and the Liberal Arts Symposium at Connecticut College. I am also a member of the Leadership Rhode Island 2026 cohort, focused on cross-sector governance and civic leadership.I am motivated by work that strengthens institutions, builds trust, and prepares leaders to make sound decisions in increasingly complex digital environments.
