About Jill Odonovan
I started my professional career as an aviation defense attorney in 1995 and morphed into an insurance coverage lawyer in primarily advising various syndicates at Lloyd’s, London. In 2016, after 21 years of fun with lawyers and countless trips “across the pond,” I made a significant career pivot and joined YWCA Metropolitan Chicago to develop strategies to create an inclusive marketplace where everyone has the opportunity to thrive. As part of that goal, I led the organization’s partnership with non-profit investment manager Impact Shares, resulting in the launch of the Impact Shares YWCA Women’s Empowerment Exchange Traded Fund on the New York Stock Exchange (WOMN) in August 2018 (womnetf.org) and oversaw the launch of the Respect Bank Account and Debit Mastercard (respectcard.com), in partnership with Mobility Capital Finance (MoCaFi), designed to help people become banked, build or repair credit and provide financial education to help reinforce economically empowering behaviors. After six amazing years, I resigned from my position as Chief Innovation Officer in June 2022 to take a much needed breather and, ultimately, to reboot and synthesize all that I’ve learned and observed over the years to determine what the next chapter of life will be. In the meantime, I’m honored to be an Advisory Board member of Streetwise (streetwise.org) and continuing to stay involved with the impact strategy related to the WOMN Exchange Traded Fund.
