About Jill Hoffman

Jill Hoffman is Founder and CEO of Qorkz Wine (qorkz.com). Qorkz is an e-commerce marketplace connecting consumers searching for high quality, limited production wines with the wineries and passionate winemakers who produce these wines. Jill was elevated from General Counsel to CEO in 2016 and has management oversight on all aspects of the company. She has significant expertise in the area of wine law and has conducted training on this subject with the San Francisco Bar Association. Jill also presented a Continuing Legal Education course at the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Law on the subjects of Wine Law and Entrepreneurship. Her experience with wine and vineyard law includes recent developments of state and federal laws pertaining to direct sales of wine from winery to consumer, and litigation of claims relating to counterfeit wines. Jill\'s background as a litigation attorney included substantial complex trial experience serving as lead counsel and managing trial teams in hundreds of cases from inception through resolution. She is especially adept at strategic analysis to capitalize on an opposing party\'s weaknesses and positioning her clients for a conclusion of the conflict to their advantage at the earliest point in the litigation. Jill is also skilled at selection and preparation of expert witnesses and evaluating cases for early resolution via Demurrer, or Motion for Summary Judgment. A leader in her local community Jill was elected to the Sausalito City Council in 2014 and selected to serve as Mayor of Sausalito by the City Council for 2016.

Legal advisor to Commander, Navy Region North West, Reserve Component Command on legal issues relevant to managing this command that spans six states and 16 Naval Operational Support Centers. Past assignments include Commanding Officer of Navy Reserve, Region Legal Service Office Hawaii from 20••••11, and Commanding Officer of Navy Reserve, Region Legal Service Office Japan from 20••••13. Duty stations include the following: Treasure Island, San Francisco, California; Naples, Italy; Bremmerton, Washington; San Diego, California; Pearl Harbor, Hawaii; Yokosuka, Japan; and Washington DC.
