ABOUT JIEER CHEN

I am a Data analyst at University of Rochester Libraries. It is a challenging but rewarding position where I get to lead a wide variety of research impact projects and collaborate with a leadership team and a group of dedicated librarians who are aligned to provide outstanding research support for the university community. Professionally, I hope to make a positive impact and stand out by utilizing data analysis abilities, interpersonal skills, and an aptitude for creative, out-of-the-box thinking. In college, I majored in Global Business Management, minored in Marketing, and graduated first in my class from the Chinese University of Hong Kong. In 2019, I earned my Master\'s in Business Analytics from Syracuse University where I concentrated my study on quantitative analysis and machine learning. I am passionate about marketing science and had multiple internships in this filed. I continue learning marketing after graduation, with a focus on A/B testing (experiments, power analysis, statistical analysis), SQL Coding (Consumer data, E-commerce data), and business intelligence (KPIs, Campaigns, Funnel Analyses). Outside of work, I love to travel. I have been to more than 20 countries so far and my favorite countries are Norway, Spain and Italy. I love hiking and spending time in nature. Hiking helps me reduce stress and find myself in a kind of mindful state. I fell in love with it when I lived in Norway. I also love to try new food and new restaurants. That is one of my ways to learn about new countries and new countries. It is also a great way for friends and family to get together and share wonderful memories.
