Working as a mechanical design engineer in the R&D department my key responsibilities are;• Apply technical knowledge to innovate, design and develop bespoke solutions. • Design solutions in accordance with applicable industry standards, e.g. API, DNV etc.• Ensure designs produced are efficient and cost effective, seeking to reuse existing designs and components wherever practical.• Produce engineering documents in accordance with industry standards, including drawings, reports and calculations.• Collaboration between technical, production, engineering and manufacturing departments to design new products and processes as well as optimising and improving existing. • Lead engineer on various development projects liaising with the renewables, oil and gas and composite departments.
