About Jiamin Wang

Having grown up in a very small town about 4 hours west of Beijing, the people there were very conservative. They had limited access to opportunities for education and economic growth. Many people in my hometown have similar political views and lifestyle choices. These quintessential small-town norms are what inspired me to get out of my comfort zone and move to the United States for bigger and better opportunities. I’m a dedicated business professional with a background in human resources and accounts payable, Previously, I worked as an interpreter for the WNBA and as a learning coordinator at Beijing Sports University. Through my experience, I interacted with high profile players and executives to build rapport with coaches and team officials. My international experience has provided me with strong understanding of different work cultures. I’m passionate about Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DEI). I take interest in helping others feel involved and comfortable in a new environment. As a new immigrant, finding my community has been an ongoing challenge, but my interpersonal skills have helped me adapt socially and make new friends. In professional settings, I’ve learned how certain work cultures fit my personality best. I prefer collaborate environments where teamwork is valued, learning is encouraged, and asking questions are embraced. I consider myself as a culturally competent individual who appreciates diversity, practices empathy, maintains confidentiality and practices excellent professional communication. As I continue gaining experience, adjusting to new cultures, and learning more about DEI, my long-term goal is to earn my MBA in finance along the way. For now, gaining a versatile experience in the business world, it will allow me to be a more inclusive leader in the future.

   Prepare or coordinate with 3rd party consultants monthly, quarterly and annual sales tax, business tax, income tax and other applicable tax returns, necessary documents and reports to multiples states, including consulting on difficult tax issues -Ability and willingness to roll up sleeves and negotiate with tax authorities over tax payment issues -Keep accounts receivable, accounts payable and issue invoices up to date -Recording / assisting with business transactions whenever needed -Participate in the preparation of monthly / yearly closings -Coordinate tax audits by various taxation authorities and provides support during annual audits -Coordiate with the IT department for any tax rate and classfication updates -Serve as a point of contact for some tax-related records -Assist in the maintenance of the company\'s tax records -Evaluate tax regulations and recommend strategies and policies that reduce the tax burden and increase profit -Process weekly check deposits -Reconciles and maintain balance sheet accounts -Keep track of industry trends and changes related taxes -Other Finance projects and ad-hoc reporting as needed
