About Jhonatan Marte
I am a University of Chicago trained psychiatrist and a member of Alpha Omega Alpha and the Gold Humanism Honor Society. I have special interests in mindfulness, meditation, and other Eastern based therapeutic practices. I hope to bridge Eastern thought and Western diagnostics and treatments to relieve the suffering of patients struggling with mental illness. I believe the concept of mental illness may at times reflect existential or spiritual crisis, necessitating a holistic, patient-centered approach. I am trained in psychodynamic psychotherapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, and exposure response prevention therapy with significant experience working with patients with obsessive compulsive disorder, attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, anxiety disorders, mood disorders, and trauma/stressor related disorders.
