ABOUT JULIE HAGARTY NUTTER

I am a former senior U.S. diplomat who led the professional policy division of the American Foreign Service Association (AFSA) for eight years after my retirement from the State Department in 2016. I retired from AFSA in March 2025. In the last AFSA elections, AFSA members elected me as one of two retiree representatives on the AFSA Board and I look forward to serving AFSA again in my retired capacity. AFSA\'s mission is to strengthen U.S. diplomacy and promote the health and vitality of the professional Foreign Service.
