Hello, My name is Justin Halm. I am an MBA grad with a passion in supply chain and process improvement. I am interested in optimizing supply chains to reduce cost and meet strategic initiatives of the business, but I also enjoy improving the processes that support these activities and reducing waste and variation for our employees. Supply Chain lead for New Product Development projects. The main role of the NPD Sourcing Specialist is to develop a Supply Chain for all parts within a new product that align with the overall commodity strategies. This includes the following activities:• Scoping suppliers for new technologies.• Understanding the technical requirements of the product and communicating needs to our suppliers.• Aligning on the strategy for each part with Commodity Management.• Analyze Make vs. Buy decisions with Manufacturing team to determine a strategy of assemble in house or source. • Quoting and supplier selection.• Supporting the engineering/production teams with Purchase Orders for prototypes and audit builds.• Work with Quality and Engineering to facilitate materials and data required for part approval.• Work with Supply Chain team to develop inventory management strategy for each part (Safety Stock Levels, Kanban, etc.) • Manage Purchase Orders during production ramp up stage until the design is stable and ready to be transitioned to the standard purchasing team.• Work with cross functional team that incldues Engineering, Manufacturing, Product Management, Sales, and Tech Support.
