About Jay Guillory
Dr. Jay Guillory serves as an Associate of Higher Education Programs for Progress and Completion at Educate Texas, an initiative of the Communities Foundation of Texas. He brings expertise in student success, literacy, and focused engagement, leveraging his higher education background to advance college readiness and access for underserved students.Jay holds a BA in History from Northwestern State University of Louisiana, an M.Ed in Educational Leadership with a focus in Student Personnel Leadership from East Tennessee State University, and an Doctor of Education in Higher Education Administration at East Texas A&M University. His research focuses on Black and Latino male students\' sense of belonging at Historically White Institutions during the anti-DEI movement. He has over seven years of experience developing and delivering campus-wide leadership and service initiatives, programs, and events, as well as managing budgets and staff at East Texas A&M University and East Tennessee State University. He is a certified facilitator of True Colors International, a recipient of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in the Workplace Certificate, and an author of a book chapter on being young and Black in the field of higher education.
