ABOUT JONATHAN GOMEZ MARTINEZ
Jonathan Gomez Martinez is a PhD candidate at the Goizueta Business School of Emory University. His research examines the unintended consequences of digital platform strategy with ongoing projects critically evaluating (i) the social cost of AI-based automation,(ii) Microsoft’s release Apple’s privacy policy, & (iv) the efficacy of content moderation. Jonathan’s research relies on sophisticated econometric tools including regression discontinuity in time, survival analysis, dynamic panel data models, and network analysis – often combined into complex systems to accurately model reality. When not actively pursuing research, Jonathan likes to develop toy deep learning models including (i) a music recommendation engine,(ii) an image embedding framework, and an AI-powered local search engine. Jonathan is using his specialized knowledge about platforms, econometrics, and artificial-intelligence to develop socio-technical systems which make us more human.
