About Juan Garcia

Juan is a Licensed Professional Civil Engineer (TX) and a Certified Floodplain Manager with over five years of experience in water resource planning and flood control. He has successfully collaborated with federal and state agencies to support environmental review and engineering analyses in compliance with program policy, including FEMA’s various pre and post disaster mitigation funds. Juan is focused on community flood resilience and works with key stakeholders to develop flood risk reduction strategies that are equitable, holistic, and sustainable. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Engineering from Southern Methodist University.As a Water Resources Engineer at Walter P Moore, Juan develops hydrologic and hydraulic models to support flood risk analyses that inform the design of proposed flood mitigation projects. He also supports FEMA floodplain modeling and mapping studies, and prepares technical proposals, reports, and exhibits using ArcGIS.
