   U.S. Army Cadets are future leaders of the Army who train through the Reserve Officers’ Training Corps (ROTC) to commission as Officers upon graduation. Cadets balance their college education with military training, developing skills in leadership, decision-making, and tactical operations. Their training includes classroom instruction in military science, weekly leadership labs, physical fitness training, and multi-day field training exercises (FTXs) designed to simulate real-world missions.Cadets learn to lead small units, manage resources, and operate effectively under stress, all while upholding the Army Values of loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity, and personal courage. Throughout their progression, they take on increasing levels of responsibility, from leading peers in training to planning and executing complex missions.The ultimate goal of an Army Cadet is to earn a commission as a Second Lieutenant and serve as a trusted, capable leader of soldiers. Cadets are trained not only to meet the physical and tactical demands of military service, but also to become leaders of character who can inspire and guide others in both military and civilian life.
