Technical Lead and Manager for all of Speech Serving Infrastructure and ASR/TTS model releases.(This is an evolution of my previous role. I became the sole owner of Speech Production and added Text-to-Speech and Releases to my portfolio of services).Speech Production is the team that maintains all the serving infrastructure for serving Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR) and Text-to-Speech (TTS) at scale in Google. ASR and TTS are extensively used throughout most of Google, including Gemini, Bard, Youtube, Maps, Cloud and many more.The team I lead is responsible for the performance, reliability and availability of the Speech serving infrastructure, which focuses on:* Relentlessly optimizing the use of compute and accelerator (TPUs) resources to increase utilization to serve more with less.* Reduce outages by any means necessary: reducing serving stack complexity, implement customer isolation, identifying traffic priority and patterns to process requests according to their respective constraints.* Increase development velocity, while maintaining safety, by creating tools and processes to allow researchers to move faster when testing and launching new Speech models.
