Darmstadt, DE

I’m currently pursuing my PhD on the role of e-micromobility in enabling more sustainable, people-centered urban transport systems.Research is focuses on how emerging mobility solutions can support transitions toward car-lite cities. I use a mix of methods - including agent-based simulations, scenario surveys, and participatory research to understand how infrastructure, policy, and social behavior interact in shaping future mobility. The research contributes to broader sustainability goals, particularly around climate action and livable urban environments (SDGs 11 & 13).

ABOUT JESTASHREE MULLUR GURUSWAMY

I’m a curious mind and a hands-on problem solver, currently pursuing a PhD at the Center for Sustainable Economic and Corporate Policy (ZNWU), Hochschule Darmstadt. My research dives into the future of urban mobility, specifically how e-micromobility (like e-scooters and e-bikes) fits into car-reduced, people-friendly city designs such as superblocks. With over 8 years of experience as a Software Developer and Project Manager, I’ve built, launched, and led digital solutions that are as functional as they are beautiful, working with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, React, Python, and beyond. Now, I’m bringing that same creative energy into sustainability science, using agent-based simulations, participatory scenario design, and urban modelling to rethink how we move in cities.Whether I’m prototyping a new interaction, mapping user journeys, or modeling mobility patterns, I thrive at the intersection of tech, people, and purpose. My work bridges technical systems, social insight, and critical thinking, with one eye always on the future.
