Currently positioned at the Stanford Cancer Institute where contributions focus on advancing cancer research through the design and execution of molecular biology experiments aimed at identifying novel therapeutic gene targets. In-depth evaluations of aneuploidy-related gene vulnerabilities are conducted through collaborative research efforts, utilizing advanced techniques including human cancer cell culture, qPCR, and flow cytometry. Use of PyMol, Python and R enhances the analysis of protein interactions and differential splicing patterns associated with loss of Y cancers. Moved in July 2025 from Yale University with the lab of Dr. Jason Sheltzer.

ABOUT JESSICA KEANE

As a Student Researcher at UW Medicine, I collaborate with a team of experts in vaccine development for T. pallidum, the causative agent of syphilis. My current project involves the determination of the hierarchy of immunodominant epitopes of the TP17 protein for replacement with other protective epitopes. Currently, I am working on the expression of a recombinant chimera produced from T. pallidum antigens with the hopes of immunization and challenge of laboratory animals.I am pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry at the University of Washington and am interested in a career that serves the intersection of medicine and underserved communities where I aim to address healthcare inequities through translational research. I have had the privilege to serve in various leadership roles on campus where I have learned what it means to be a community builder and enact change. I am interested in opportunities to support other aspiring student researchers or to further engage in research supporting historically marginalized communities in the medical field. Specific fields of interest include immunology, pathology, cancer therapeutics, and infectious disease.
