ABOUT JESSIE FAY PARROTT
I am an interdisciplinary climate change scientist specializing in mitigation and adaptation issues. My work is based in community and equitable problem solving. My primary goal is to use my skill set to adapt and mitigate climate and general crisis issues through accessible methods and communication. I am a Policy Analyst at the Human Services Council of New York. We work to advocate for higher working standards for human services workers and support for their organizations in New York City.My notable pieces of work include a dual-level qualitative analysis of nine local and state level climate initiatives in Louisiana; a one semester interdisciplinary climate change curriculum for high school students, and teamwork on several NSF and NOAA funded projects. I am a co-author of Louisiana SB 76 (2022), which exempts the majority of state university graduate students from mandatory fees.
