About Jessie Castner
Do you ever feel like a walking paradox? I do! I am highly creative, but I also am analytical. I play to my creative side by developing new innovative ideas, creating collateral, and practicing different forms of art. I play to my analytical side by researching, problem-solving, and looking at data. These conflicting personality traits allow me to be adaptive in any situation. I can easily switch between reviewing data-rich documents to creating stunning presentations. My background is rooted in hospitality. I started working at the young age of 7 at my grandfather\'s beachfront motel, the Sans Souci. Here, I learned the importance of hard work and connecting with guests to keep them coming back. The Sans Souci led me to my next stepping stone, a degree in Tourism and Event Management from George Mason University. Many of the assignments were group-based; I learned the importance of partnerships to accomplish goals. My first job out of college was at the Mayflower Hotel as a Catering Sales Administrative Assistant. At the Mayflower Hotel was where I had my first exposure to branding. The hotel itself exuded elegance and timelessness. Tasked with keeping up with the brand image post-renovation, I rejuvenated proposals, provided content to the social media managers, and designed the social photoshoot to attract clients. I saw how keeping a consistent theme throughout all messages can attract like-minded clients. Building on this branding knowledge, I moved into sales as a Sales Manager for Marriott. I explored the brands under the Marriott umbrella and learned about the kinds of clients they attract. I built strong relationships with my clients, which kept them rebooking business. I learned how to pair clients with hotels to achieve the experience they wanted. In my current role as Senior Administrative Assistant to the Vice President of Brand, Marketing, and Digital, I became a go-to person. I learned a little bit of everything, from P & Ls to writing copy. If you needed answers, I found them. Being a go-to person, it makes me highly adaptable in getting my goals accomplished. For my next role, how can I help you?
