ABOUT JESSIE BUCKNER
Functional Ecologist, Project Manager, Wetland Specialist, Educator, and Naturalist, I have a special love for coastal wetlands, freshwater mussels, and urban spaces but also work in other biomes like forests and meadows. I work on restoration and conservation projects that are based in science and sound ecological principles. I also enjoy teaching, as a regular instructor at Longwood Gardens but also one-off environmental education classes for community engagement at all age levels. I do a lot of work with assessment, analysis, master planning, restoration recommendation and design, and monitoring. I am currently focusing on living shorelines, marsh restoration, beneficial reuse of dredge material, and urban watersheds.
