ABOUT JESSIE DEUTSCHMANN

I am a senior at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in the Haslam College of Business studying finance with a collateral in accounting. I am part of a select, small group of students selected to participate in an honors finance program. I’m an outgoing individual who thrives on networking and assisting others in their growth. To utilize this passion, I work in the University of Tennessee’s Masters Investment Learning Center where I mentor students in learning Bloomberg data analysis. I am also an organized, natural problem solver and excel when working with numbers. I exhibited this skill through my position as the Director of Financial Operations for my sorority. I created the yearly budget and closely monitor daily finances to ensure we remain in a strong financial position. Knowing that most of an individual’s skill growth and professional development comes from hands on experiences, I’m leaning into as many opportunities that I can while completing my education. I am involved in four clubs on campus: Women in Finance (President), Tennessee Capital Markets Society, University of Tennessee Investment Group and Financial Management Association. In the Tennessee Capital Markets Society, I completed a project where I analyzed a company using the three financial valuation models, reviewed the industry positioning, identified comparable companies and potential buyers, and presented a final investment banking pitch book to the club members. As I am early in my career, I am open to a variety of opportunities. I am looking forward to continuing my learning and skill development through future classes and clubs as well as summer internships.
