About Jessica Xhumari
I\'m a Ph.D. student in Microbiology and Cell Science at the University of Florida, researching astronaut gut health, synthetic mucins, and planetary protection for astrobiological applications. This has allowed me to specialize in next-generation microbiome sequencing and bioinformatics. I\'m also very involved in STEM outreach, communication, and education efforts especially regarding astrobiology and origin of life research. Ultimately, I hope to advance public awareness and education regarding the origin and search for life beyond Earth.
