About Jessica Vestal
I graduated from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2024 with a Bachelor of Arts in English and Legal Studies minor. Having graduated in three years, I made my time count by being heavily involved with the Illinois Trial Team as an attorney competitor, secretary, and team captain. I also worked at Land of Lincoln Legal Aid in the sealing and expungement group. It was through these opportunities I found my passion for litigation and advocacy. As a 1L, I competed on Phi Alpha Delta\'s 1L Mock Trial Team, my team placing third at the Phi Alpha Delta International Mock Trial Competition in Washington, D.C. Additionally, I won Phi Alpha Delta\'s Spring 2025 Intraschool Mock Trial Competition at the College of Law, also earning the award of Best Trial Advocate. To continue to strengthen the client interaction skills I built at Land of Lincoln, I participated in the Intraschool Client Counselling Competition put on by the College of Law. Lastly, I served as 1L Representative for the Health and Elder Law Society.I am now a rising 2L still committed to litigation. This summer, I rejoined Land of Lincoln Legal Aid as a Tisdahl Intern working in family law, domestic violence, and criminal records relief. I am currently competing on the Arbitrations Team under the Anderson Center’s Dispute Resolution Board, participating in the South Texas College of Law Houston Inter-School Negotiation Practicum, and working as a Seasonal Associate at Meyer Capel.
