I am currently working as Digital Archive Strategy Project Coordinator for the British International Research Institutes, a group of eight academic organisations affiliated with The British Academy, the UK’s primary funder of humanities and social sciences.My role involves managing communications across seven countries, contributing to the Steering Group on the strategic development of collaborative research projects between archivists and academics; reporting and monitoring responsibilities; providing advice on archival best practice, including copyright law compliance; and ultimately ensuring timely completion of project deliverables. I am responsible for coordinating a collaborative research project to produce two digital exhibitions which illustrate the interconnected nature of the institutes’ archives, and their potential to open up new avenues of research when Linked Open Data makes visible new points of crossover that are currently out of sight.Having forging new working relationships across subject areas in the past few months, I will be presenting online with representatives from the British Institute for the study of North Africa (BILNAS) and the British Institute at East Africa (BIEA) in February at the Virtual Seminar in Islamic Art History, creating a new series of connections across the archives, proving the project concept.

ABOUT JESSICA HOLLAND
I\'m a project manager, curator and archivist with 8 years\' experience in arts, cultural and educational institutions in the UK and internationally. As a fundraiser, I have secured five- and six-figure grants from philanthropic and public funding sources in the UK and US. Most recently, I was the sole author of the grant application, and subsequently Project Lead for a British Library Endangered Archives Programme project with activities in Jerusalem, Amman and London, whilst working as Strategic Projects Director for the Council for British Research in the Levant, an affiliate organisation of The British Academy. Along with my collaborators, Dr Bridget Guarasci,(Co-curator) and Dr Heather Moqtaderi,(Exhibition Producer), I was awarded the Sachs Program For Arts Innovation Community Partnership Grant (2023) and consequently developed new partnerships with University of Pennsylvania-affiliated institutions including UPenn Middle East Center, Al Bustan Seeds for Culture (a community arts centre), Past Present Projects,(an independent arts organisation) and the internationally-renowned Penn Museum. Together, we designed and delivered an artist residency programme bringing German-Jordanian artistic duo ‘Huniti Goldox’ to Penn’s campus for a 3-day long series of workshops, tours and a final screening of their video work \'The Dido Problem\'. I am an experienced editor and presenter at academic and professional conferences. Most recently I spoke at BRISMES 2024, and in 2023, I co-edited the digitised epublications:\'Bulletins and Supplementary Papers of the British School of Archaeology in Jerusalem, 1922–1931\'(CBRL:2023; 1922–1931) and \'Mamluk Jerusalem: An Architectural Study\'(CBRL, AlTajir Trust: 2023; 1987). I spent four years working in Jordan for a U.S. research institute, the American Center of Research (ACOR) working in Arabic (Levantine dialect) as well as English, where I was the primary author on a grant from the U.S. Department of Education (Title VI), funding a four-year archive and academic engagement project to digitise, catalogue the collections and initiate a new Educators’ Fellowship programme for faculty from community colleges, Minority Serving Institutions and Historically Black Universities and Colleges. The resulting archive was awarded 3rd prize at the Petra National Trust Heritage Awards (2024). I hold an MA (Distinction) in Middle Eastern Studies and Arabic from SOAS, where my dissertation addressed decolonial affordances of digital archives. I hold a BA (MA Cantab) in History of Art from University of Cambridge.
