I joined the team of dedicated library professionals at Arapahoe Libraries several years ago and have absolutely loved my role ever since. Working alongside a passionate and skilled team, I have the pleasure of serving members of our local community every day. In my role as a library specialist I have the opportunity to:• Provide exceptional customer service by addressing patron inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner• Proactively recommend library services, programs and databases to patrons and community members• Create and deliver unique patron led displays and programming aimed to reach unrepresented members of our community• Engage in co-collaborative reference interviews to assist patrons in locating relevant resources and information• Design visually appealing library displays, showcasing new arrivals, heritage months and other fun, and relevant topics• Serve as an in-branch liaison for our adult patrons with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities • Create a welcoming environment for all to explore and thrive• Work with members of the Library Specialist team to: accurately shelve materials, complete monthly inventory, and identify items in need of repair and/or discarding• Demonstrate strong communication and interpersonal skills, building positive relationships with patrons and colleagues, and fostering a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere in the library• Maintain knowledge of current programs and offerings• Learn new technologies and software to support patrons in accessing library resources• Demonstrate skill in quickly identifying and resolving problems, ensuring an efficient work environment is created at all time
